The Tom Holden Scholarship
The Tom Holden Scholarship
Tom Holden grew up in Boise, Idaho, attending Bishop Kelly High School. He was an accomplished student and recognized as a National Merit Finalist his senior year in high school. Tom also excelled in sports, holding the school’s 800-meter track record for over 20 years until eventual Olympic finalist and world silver medalist Nick Symmonds came along and broke his record.
Tom passed away in January of 2017 after a brave battle with colon cancer. Tom’s perseverance and courage was an inspiration to family and friend. Tom loved sports and spent many hours in his youth playing a wide variety of games and sports. Tom’s family generously launched this scholarship for youth because of Tom’s love for sports and to help those who can’t afford the rising cost of participation in youth sports.
