The 2023 “WE” Award – Steve Vogel

Steve mentored and coached thousands of kids during his 32 years career as an educator and coach. Many of his former players became good friends with Coach Vogs, and he cherished those relationships throughout his life.

Steve served on the Idaho Youth Sports Commission Advisory Board and was in the very first meeting to discuss the idea of starting up our organization. He loved all sports, and often said, “Kids need to play as many sports as possible for as long as possible.” He loved the Plummer Challenge, and loved seeing young kids get the opportunity to just play.

The IYSC is proud to honor Coach Steve Vogel, posthumously, with the “WE” award for a lifetime contribution to youth sports.
